One tree, six sections of fence, and a big mess to clean up: I can't, and won't, complain. No serious damage, no water, and no injuries to myself, mine, or my extended. Can't ask for more. We didn't even lose power.
Which reminds me of something George Carlin said, which I will paraphrase, since my book was permanently "borrowed":
I heard on the news that 250,000 people are without power tonight. I thought, actually 300 million Americans are without power. They're just not aware of it.
And there it is. Well, I'm grateful all the same. We hope to return to our regularly scheduled programming soon.
Respectfully Yours,
Cricket and Porcupine
