Privatization

I have to say, it's a good thing we privatized most of our public works around here. Once upon a time, all we had were lazy public workers, with their "unions" and their "pensions" and their "benefits." Tax leeches, just like teachers, firefighters, and police. Who needs 'em?

But just look at this man. Now here's the efficiency of the private sector at work. This man hasn't moved in almost twenty minutes, but when he does? I'll bet he's the very picture of that can-do American spirit, the essence of that free enterprise system that makes us great, a man full of get up and go!

All right. Twenty-two minutes later, we seem to be working on the "get up" part. Now that's the spirit. Privatization sure worked for us. Why not try it in your community? Be sure to vote Republican to bring private sector efficiency to a city near you.

Very Truly Yours,

Heh!

Difference is...that guy can get fired.

But, let's not judge him too harshly. Maybe he was on his prescribed "break." Or, waiting for someone to bring equipment he needed.

Or, maybe something else explains it.

Not enough details.

Hi Andy -

You're right, of course. I hadn't intended to post today, but the view from my window inspired me, heh, heh.

Even so, I wonder, if I were to use the same pics, but instead write a tirade against public workers, unions, and all that, and publish it over at Red State or The American "Thinker", if the responses would be as charitable.

In truth, I suspect there is some explanation, since the guy showed up, took his nap, went back to his truck, waited around some more, and just left as I was writing this comment. I didn't see that he did anything, so yeah, there was some problem I'm sure.

But again, see above.

He was no doubt testing the shade to make sure it met some specific ass-cooling standard.

I appreciate the humor in your post and having worked both in the private and public sector I can say that lazy does not discriminate.

Also, it is not true that people in the public sector cannot be fired.

Oh, how deliciously naughty you are, I love these candid shots! Too, too funny - your commentary says it all, it's just a wonderful capture (grin)..

(Cricket, I was simply blown away to discover you had recommended my "Luscious" post for Hilary's Post of the Week, I can't even begin tell you how much that's meant to me, what a kind and generous thing to do! Please consider yourself well and truly hugged, my friend!)

Nothing like telling it like it is in your post. With a sense of humor of course.

The man in the first picture looks as if he's getting ready to fart on a gopher. What's the market rate for that piece of work?

Haha! That's funny. Wait, I think I know that guy. No... maybe I just know a few like him. ;)
