Buck's Blues

Everyone deserves a song. That's just the way it is. This one goes out to blog-bud Buck, just as a day brightener. If I had a hip little convertible and a wide open Western highway to drive it on, this is what I'd hear in my head. Sure, we have our differences, but we share a fondness for Trappist beers, fine cigars, and things that go slide on guitars. It's a start. Hope you enjoy Buck's Blues.

Click the link to listen or for download. Sound quality is lo-fi, but so am I, and hey, what do you want for free? If you like it, tell your friends. If not, tell your enemies, because they listen to music too.

Respectfully Yours,

Cricket

Oh my goodness Cricket, it THIS YOU?? Wow, now that's what I call fine, finger-pickin' blues, young man - wonderful!

You are too modest, Cricket. You have talent with a capital T. Really good pickin' and I will tell everyone. Thanks for sharing with us.

From one picker to another, that's some mighty fine pickin'.

Damn. The more I listen to you, the more I realize that you're a major league talent and I'm somewhere down in Single A hanging on by my fingernails as a third-string catcher. Anyway, Buck should love it! Having a song named after you is sort of the ultimate, and most especially such a tasty one.

Hey Buck - Glad to hear it.

I write and record a song almost every morning. My usual m.o. these days is, if we must label, free jazz/post-rock/ambient - but every now and then I need to get out of a rut and do something completely different.

So I started fooling around with that riff there and thought, I bet I know someone who might appreciate something like this.

There may be a musical post in the future with pictures of the insanely modern gear I've been using to make rather retro noises. A hint: my telecaster is affectionately nicknamed "the Borg" and the drums/bass on this track were played on it.

Anyways, glad you liked it.

Everyone else - thanks, really and truly.

You're right! It does deserve a convertible or at least a great beer.
I'll be sharing! How cool is it to know the artist? =;]
